Retail Crime Unit
The City of Brea is a destination city for area residents looking for shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. With a daytime population of over 100,000, the city has identified the need for specialized enforcement in these areas, and a retail crime unit was created. The members of this unit are assigned specifically to Brea’s large retail centers, including the Brea Mall and Brea’s Downtown. In addition to handling retail crime investigations, they also conduct proactive patrol on bicycle and coordinate special events. Retail crime unit members work closely with local merchants and residents to create a safe, welcome atmosphere for both Brea residents and those coming to Brea to shop, eat, and be entertained.
