Police Corporal
The position of Police Corporal is an assignment within either the Patrol or Traffic Divisions of the police department. The primary responsibility of a Corporal is to act as a Field Training Officer for new Brea police officers. Corporals are also expected to mentor other officers, and often take on the role of first line supervisor in the absence of a Sergeant or other supervisory level officer. Corporals are well-rounded officers who have demonstrated a high level of skill in many different aspects of law enforcement. Police Corporals often seek and receive promotion to Police Sergeant.
