SWAT
The Brea Police Department is a member of the six agency North County SWAT team. This regionalized SWAT team is rapidly becoming a model for similar teams around California. Brea officers are assigned to the team in addition to their regular assignments, and they remain on an “on-call” basis for significant incidents in which there is a need for a SWAT operation in any of the four involved cities, or in other jurisdictions.
SWAT officers are highly trained, and receive continual training on an ongoing basis. They also are equipped with the latest and best available technology in weapons, personal protection gear, and communications equipment.
