Bicycle Patrol
An ancillary duty available to Brea police officers is Bicycle Patrol. Usually on an overtime basis, or during special events, specially trained officers are assigned to patrol specific areas on bicycle. The department provides mountain bikes, specifically outfitted with equipment needed for law enforcement. Officers receive training on the operation of bicycles in a law enforcement setting.
Trained officers are offered the opportunity to conduct bicycle patrol on an overtime basis in Brea’s Downtown area, as well as at special events in Brea and Yorba Linda and the Brea Mall during the holiday season.
