Patrol/Uniform
All police officers begin their career at the Brea Police Department working uniformed patrol. Working under a modified 3/12 work schedule, patrol officers are assigned to specific patrol “teams,” working either daytime or nighttime hours, and either weekdays or weekends. With increased tenure comes the flexibility of choosing a specific schedule. Officers also have the option of patrolling either in Brea, or in our contract city of Yorba Linda.
The City of Brea has enjoyed the reputation of being on the cutting edge of technology, and our police department is no exception. Patrol officers are equipped with all of the tools necessary for effective and safe police work. From the latest generation Mobile Data Computer, to digital photography and video equipment, to rifles and tasers, Brea police officers are utilizing the best available technology and weaponry to protect and investigate.
