Police Service Officer
A Police Service Officer (PSO) is a non-sworn position which directly supports patrol and traffic officers. Police Service Officers work in the field handling non-emergency calls for service. They investigate a variety of crimes, handle traffic collisions and conduct crime scene investigations. They also conduct parking enforcement throughout the city. The work of PSO's maximize the department's effectiveness by freeing up patrol officers to handle more pressing calls for service. Police Service Officers earn a shift differential pay bonus of 3% when working evening and night shifts.
