Jailer
The Police Jailer is a non-sworn position. The Jailer takes custody of the suspect once the arresting officer arrives at the police station. The Jailer then books, fingerprints, and photographs the suspect. The Jailer is responsible for securing and monitoring prisoners while in custody at the Brea Jail. The Jailer also assists officers by taking non-emergency report calls. A Jailer earns a shift differential pay bonus of 3% when working evening and night shifts.
